The men of Mpower CT continue to impress. The Health Collective’s community for bi and gay men 18-35, part of the international Mpowerment Project, has led to many guys finding friendship, support, love, and more throughout Central Connecticut.

However, Mpower CT is neither a support group nor dating service.

While learning how to keep each other safe and combat HIV in our communities, many of the Mpowerment guys have volunteered to help younger guys through activities such as the Queer Prom and True Colors.

Other guys are volunteering in the Collective’s clinics and outreach programs.

Recently a newer member of Mpowerment led a powerful discussion at a special meeting on his experiences in the gay community while facing the challenges of drugs, poverty, an ongoing battle with cancer, lack of education – and succeeding in his career and life.

His story is just one of the many inspiring- sometimes harrowing – narratives shared by Mpowerment members now seeking to make the LGBT community and the world healthier and more accepting.

Mpower CT meets every second and fourth Tuesday at 7pm at the Health Collective, 1841 Broad St., Hartford.

Meeting announcements and morte can be found on the group’s Facebook page:
