You read that right! Connecticut is having another fabulous Pride festival – On the Beach in New London!

Ocean Beach Park, New London
Live entertainment, vendors on the boardwalk, GLBTQ resources, activities for all ages, bar and patio overlooking the Long Island Sound, and more….your typical pride festival but it is on the beach!
Ocean Beach Park has a wide sandy beach along the Long Island Sound, 1/2 mile boardwalk, olympic size swimming pool, playground and splash park, waterslides, kiddie rides, and mini-golf. There is an ice-cream stand, snack bar/cafe, gift shop, and a bar/lounge which also serves food on deck overlooking the ocean.

The main stage is hosted by comedian Erin Foley…live acts include Hartford Gay Men’s Chorus, Carrie Ashton Band, Freedom Trail Band, Arlene Wow, Gramma’s Attic Showcase presents Harper & Owens and Camacho. Lineup also includes African drumming, Native American dancing, hoop dancing, zumba, and roving performances by the Mystic Paper Beasts. Drag performances are in between acts; and, day ends with Tea Dance with DJ Kid Nocturnal.
There is indoor meeting space at the park to discuss issues that impact the glbtq community. Topics to be discussed include adoption, LGBT health, and trans issues.
Face painting, zumba, hoop dancing, waterslides, splash park, arcade, mini golf, kiddie rides, and playground will keep the children entertained in addition to the sandy beach.
Ocean State Pride Volleyball League will have a tournament on the beach along with some open play for everyone.
Nautilus deck is private area with cash bar overlooking the Long Island Sound. Every hour is a special meet and greet for people to gather. Have a chance to meet politicians, celebrities, or just mingle with other queers. Special audiences include women, sports enthusiasts, over 50, youth, and state roller derby leagues.
There is a meet and greet for ages 13-19 at Nautilus Deck at 6:00 pm. Volleyball is also open to all ages and drop-in games are from 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm at the courts with rainbow flags. Don’t miss youth from New London provide an hour of entertainment at the main stage at 4:00 pm.

Buy pride merchandise, gifts, and gather information from local churches, organizations, and civic associations. Many glbtq groups represented.
