mandela_crop_04Jul1993I, like many of you, felt much sadness, learning of the death of Nelson Mandela yesterday.  I paid my respects by learning more about him and the life he led.

Listening to him and watching him. While he could have let his emotions get in the way of his activism and life choices,  he chose to let his brain determine his actions. He felt anger, certainly, at the oppression he and his community experienced; but he expected and demanded respect.

So, let’s take with us the knowledge and the example set by Nelson Mandela:  we can make life choices that benefit each of us individually, and our LGBT community, to Be Well, to Be Ourselves.
